This portrait belongs to the series "Les Surrealistes."
"...Like all of us, women with hopes and struggles. Sometimes stock in places wishing to live other people's lives, maybe including your life.
Her name is Misèria.
She is the portrait of a brave female, a Ukrainian woman in the middle of a sociopolitical war that she didn't choose to be in. The rest of the world is looking through the eyes of deep empathy and every day counts as one day more or one day less...
Makes my heart crumble like a piece of paper seeing all these elders, women, children, and men giving up everything in order to survive.
She is wearing the traditional folkloric 'khustka' or 'ochipok' a headdress and her national colors because even she is worried about the future of her country. Her force will continue to grow.
According to national authorities, more than 2.5 million people (March 17th) have fled Ukraine since the Putin-led invasion of Ukraine, home to 44 million.
This devastating situation is the potential beginning of another major refugee crisis. We can't ignore it!!!"
