Marimar Estate Vineyards & Winery and the artist Marina Solé have worked together shaping a very unique and exquisite collaboration that brought the Catalan heritage a beautiful event of art & wine. The perfect pairing made possible a wonderful and successful art show and casual wine tasting. Solé exhibited new pieces, three of which were inspired by Marimar's wines. The exhibition started on November 1st until the 17th. I hope you had the chance to visit the wonderful Spanish winery and see Marina's surreal art! www.marimarestate.com Studio Kura 絵画教室Itoshima, Japan 2023 August 24th I landed in Tokyo, stayed a week and then finalized my fun time in North Japan staying in beautiful rural Hakone where I got to relax in a Ryokan, indulge art, enjoy nature, taste the best food and c'est fini! Afterwards I flown directly to Itoshima, which is a dreamy costal prefecture inside Fukuoka (South of Japan). In particular to Studio Kura where my monthly art residency started! It was a life changing experience; I can't explain how much I learnt from the Japanese beacuse it is more than a list. I kind of reshaped the angle to see things in my routine, the relationship with my art and my practice and what I want to bacome. There is much to learn, so much to enjoy and feel! Arigatō gozaimashita! Marina Solé is a Catalan surrealist oil painter & mixed media artist based in San Francisco. With shy nostalgia, her oil paintings turn ordinary narratives, faces, and phrases, into the extraordinary. Her world is constructed with a whimsical Mediterranean sensibility, using a mastery of bold colors and refined technique. Her obsession with antique papers, old books from all around the world, and scraps of gazettes helps her maintain an active dialog between her collages and oil paintings. “I create slow scenarios to evoke mystery, other times vague, shaped in intuitive forms with a buoyant kick representing ambiguity” マリナのStudio Kuraでの目的は、カリフォルニア州ソノマ郡のロシアンリバー産地に位置するワイナリーとの共同クリエイティブプロジェクトのための一連のキャンバス上の絵画を作成することです。並行して、マリナはStudio Kuraを取り囲む環境を探索、吸収、研究し、没頭した体験に触発された流れるようなミクストメディアの作品を作成する予定です。 Marina’s purpose in Studio Kura was to create a series of paintings on canvas for a collaborative creative project with a Winery located in the Russian River appellation of Sonoma County, California. In parallel Marina will explore, absorb, and research the environment that surrounds Studio Kura, in order to create flowy mixed media artworks inspired by the immersive experience. Raïms / Budou 葡萄 ItoshimaVery thankful to everyone who made it to Superfine SF Edition at Fort Mason Center!
Friends, family, and collectors...or just strangers that I had the chance to talk to! You showed up and made it worth it! We started the weekend of March 22nd with beautiful sunny weather. I was really happy that the sun came up and the rain stopped. I get this weird "meteorological" migraines lately so that could not be ideal. I grow up close to the Mediterranean sea, which I miss everyday 🌞 To everyone I meet including, all the artists around me, were fantastic to talk to and kind, Joan Scheibel and Duncan Sherwood which I collect an artwork from them now! Evolve with Mary, Teresa Ferrari, Aydin Hamami and others. Also, all Superfine Art Fair team were as always fun and supportive. Thanks for all your support and for investing in me. This way I can continue creating and painting stories with color and sarcasm. I suggest to continue going out there with your friends or family to art events, cafe exhibits, support local artists and artisans, join a painting class, or a workshop, ask questions to them...I promise you will not regret doing these things. Art is community and what we do is explain stories and we build connections with stories. To also my assistant Adam, who made sure I had plenty of snacks & drinks.
